I just have one thing to say: X-Men First Class is awesome.

I'm very pleased with the three main catrgories winners. While I adore Inception, The King's Speech was also great, and way more Oscar-type movie. Of course no one could have anything against Colin Firth and Natalie Portman winning. Two well deserved prizes.
I am however pissed at Social Network winning best music. Inception's sondtrack is way better! :(

I did not like the new Harry Potter movie. Here's a short list why:

Things I didn't like )

I'm sure more will come in time, but that were the most glaring flaws of The Deathly Hallows (in my opinion). To balance that a little, here are some things I did like:

Some things I liked )

Hm... That's about it. I do hope the next part will be better, but my hopes are sadly dwindling.

Inception's Soundtrack is amazing. The first time I saw the movie I was too preoccupied with what was happening to properly pay attention, but the second time... I think I must have been shivering every time the more amazing pieces started. It's certainly one of the best soundtracks I've had the pleasure to listen to.

Also, the second viewing was just as pleasant as the first, except that I was fangirling a lot more. It actually enhances the experience :)

Another random observation: while Arthur's zero gravity fight scene was amazing, I swooned a bit more during Eames' scenes with the snow fighting. He was so cool!

I don't understand the people who thought the movie was confusing, it wasn't that hard to follow. The only scenes that were (during the first viewing) were the first ones, but only because I didn't know about extraction yet. After they explained everything I knew what was going on and could follow no problem. I think that people for whom it was confusing simply weren't paying attention (how they managed that is another question). The three timelines were distinctive (even the colors were different) and really easy to distinguish. Honestly, no problem for anyone with a working memory. Also, with the second viewing the beginning makes sense and is funnier (now when I actually knew what to watch, who is who and what is happening), particularly the Eames' scenes :)

My take on Sorcerer's Apprentice )

All in all, I expected better. At least it wasn't in 3D, I have enough of seeing every stupid movie in 3D. Leave that to some really awesome (visually) movies, like Avatar. I like my movies in 2D, thank you very much.

Just for the sake of my happiness and wellbeing: I liked both Clash of the Titans and Prince of Persia, though Prince was much better. Where CotT disappointed me slightly, PoP exceeded my expectations. Also Gemma Artreton has a marvelous voice, she's pretty and acts rather good. Another thing: I think movie makers should use 3D technology sparingly, expecially when they don't intend to actually make full use of it. I don't want to pay more for 3D for a movie that could as well be 2D and it would be the same.

For the record, I'm going to stay single for the rest of my life. Relationships are just too messy!

I just got back from watching "Alice in Wonderland" and I have to say it was pretty spectacular...

...spoilers after the cut. )

The movie was beautiful and I would gladly watch it one more time. Definitely buying it on DVD!

About Sherlock Holmes )

A bit about Supernatural 5.11 )

There are rumors that the sixth season was given a go. The Apocalypse should be over by then, but I hope Castiel will stay. Otherwise I'm happy with that piece of news :)

Seen Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus today and it was brilliant. Lily Cole is very good in this movie. For a model, she's a really great actress. Loved Heath Ledger and Johnny Deep too. I didn't  like Colin Farrell and Jude Law though. The character I liked the most was Anton (Andrew Garfield) - just my favorite (sorta angsty) type of person! Cute too :)

Generally it was a great movie that I enjoyed a lot. And the imaginary worlds were so amazing...

Spoilers for Avatar under cut... )

I loved Sam Worthington. The guy is climbing higher on my "Favorite actors" list with every movie he makes. Loved him in Terminator: Salvation, love him in Avatar, hopefully will love him in his future movies. I think I might go and download some wallpapers with him now... Right now 95% of my wallpapers feature Misha Collins :)

Ice Age

Just got back from watching Ice Age 3. It's the funniest movie I've ever seen! Really! Pity I haven't watched it in 3D, bet it would be great with all those chases and big, scary dinosaurs. The last scene - with Scratch and his "girlfriend"? Just. Amazing. Also a heart-broken nut - can there be anything funnier? Favorite animal - Diego. I love his style :)

I've watched it with Polish dubbing and I'm not regretting it. While usually dubs are scary and awful, those made for big-screen movies like Shreck, Madagascar or Ice Age totally defy this. Maybe it's the amount of money - and famous actors giving the characters their voices?  This time it was simply brilliant.

Now I wonder if there will be part four...

I've just seen the new Terminator movie today! It was my very first Terminator movie and I was pleasantly surprised. I really began to like Christian Bale. Sam Worthington was pretty glorious too! Now I have to watch other overly-Schwarzeneggerrised parts... But the story got me hooked up, so I have no choice :)

I've seen another movie with Christian Bale today as well - Equilibrium. Bale was very good there, but the ending was rather premature. More should be added!

Lately I've seen two movies. None of them was truly great. One of them was a simple action flick - but a nicely done one. The other was supposed to be interesting - it wasn't.

Spoilers ahead! )

I've seen The Watchmen today. It was amazing.

(Ozzy rocks!)

I've seen Australia today. The movie is great. I absolutely loved Hugh Jackman (though I did love him even before watching it), found Nicole Kidman very good and loved David Wenham (he's cute even as the bad guy!). And I don't know from where do I know the girl playing David's wife (Essie Davis). Matrix maybe? Anyway, she was good too.

I'm finally going to see the new Bond movie. Yes, I was supposed to go with my friends to see it, but there was always something one of them had to do and we decided to postpone it - it happened three times already! I've finally had enough. Today I'm going with dad. The tickets are already bought and the possibility of something happening which would prevent us from going is slim. Meaning - I will finally get to see this movie! And it better be good, or else...

We were supposed to go to the cinema tomorrow - to watch the newest James Bond film, but unfortunately school decided to spoil my plans... Instead we will be going next week. Luckily the movie is quite popular, so the chance that it won't be played is close to zero. I've heard that it's really good. I want to watch it! It seems more serious than previous ones (with the exception of it's immediate predecesor of course). It's high time that Bond grew up. And it makes for a really worthy movie that way.

The Mummy

I've been in cinema yesterday with my friends. The movie we went too see was "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor". And it was good.

Sides from The Mummy, Bella is lonely. She's taken to teasing Mili, which leads to being bitten by her (not painfully, just as a punishment of sorts and a reminder that her mom is higher in hierarchy than Bella). Let's hope she'll get used to it soon.

Just got back from my friends house. Had a lot of fun, though we didn't do much - mostly speaking with each other and eating :) We did however manage to watch Phantom of the Opera the movie.

There is however one reason for which I regret going to my friends house. My cat gave birth the very evening I got there! And I wanted to be with her when it happened!

She gave birth to three wonderful kittens, all male as far as I can tell, one black with white socks and two grey-striped. They are gorgeous! Now, as they are only three days old, they can't see, or hear, but can move, hiss and make other little-kitten voices. A pity we will have to give them away... Luckily not before they grow a bit and one of them will be quite nearby, with my aunt and neighbor in one person.
